Miss Deloise M. Downing, 80, of Withams, departed this life Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, at Shore Health & Rehabilitation Center in Parksley, after a brief illness.
Born in Accomack County, Deloise was the daughter of the late Leonard Godwin and the late Ella M. Downing. At the age of 25, she moved to New York City where she was a dispatcher for over 30 years.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, at the chapel of Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac, with the Rev. Richard Holland officiating. Interment was in the Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery, Temperanceville.
Deloise leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Jacqueline Brown; nine grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
