Mrs. Yvonne J. Sample, 79, of Painter, was called home to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury, Md.
Born in Wardtown, Yvonne was the daughter of the late Robert Burton Jr. and the late Hilda James. She was employed at Perdue Farms in the packing department for 29 years. Yvonne was married to James E. Sample Sr. (deceased).
Private funeral services were held Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery, Wardtown, with Bishop E. Michael Miller officiating.
She leaves to cherish her memory: four children, Nathaniel James, Tina Brown, Katrina Sample, and James E. Sample II; adopted daughter, Denise Leary Stith; six grandchildren; four sisters, Alice Hollis, Joyce Thesty, Roberta Burton Brown, and Patricia Brown; five brothers, Levin Chandler, Roy Lee James, William T. James, Willie James, and Larry Burton; two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Arrangements were by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
