Mrs. Berneda Cordilous Nock, 70, of Onley, departed this life Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021, at Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News. Berneda was the daughter of the late Stanford Gregory Allen Sr. and the late Annie Cordilous Harmon Allen. She was born March 7, 1950, in Locustville.
Berneda worked as a long-term substitute for Accomack County Public Schools. After obtaining her degree, she became a full-time ISS teacher at Nandua High School. Retiring after 30 plus years, she returned to Accawmacke Elementary School as a long-term substitute teacher and custodian. Berneda was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Private funeral services were held Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Nedab Cemetery, Daugherty, with the Rev. Herbert L. Gibbs officiating. Interment was in the Nedab Cemetery, Daugherty.
Berneda leaves to cherish fond memories: her husband, Leroy Nock Sr.; four children, Walter Nock Jr., Nina Nock, Shaneya Jackson, and Leroy Nock Jr.; two foster daughters, 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Rankin; four sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; two best friends; and a host of special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
