Staff Report —
A woman’s body was found Thursday on the southern end of Chincoteague Island, according to Chincoteague Police Chief R. K. Fisher.
The body was transported to the medical examiner’s office in Norfolk, Va. for identification and further investigation.
The Chincoteague Police Department was assisted by the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office, Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations, and the Virginia State Police Search and Rescue Team.
