By Linda Cicoira — A woman’s body was found last Friday morning along with an abandoned vehicle adjacent to a pond at Virginia Landing near Quinby.
Sheriff Todd Godwin said his office received a report regarding the vehicle. When officers arrived, they found the body, which has been transported to the Norfolk medical examiner’s office for an autopsy. Godwin did not disclose the woman’s identity.
The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Virginia Marine police, state police, and Painter and Wachapreague fire companies.
