Man Dies in Painter From Gunshots

By Linda Cicoira — A 40-year-old Belle Haven man was found dead on Wednesday, May 29, from “apparent gunshot wounds,” Accomack Sheriff Todd Godwin said Friday in a prepared statement.

The sheriff’s office received “a report of shots being fired on Boggs Road in Painter at about 9:15 p.m. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found the body of Alvin Rogers inside a vehicle.

The deputies were assisted by the state police.

No other details were disclosed.
