Pastor Joseph S. Moore, 84, husband of Nancy Watson Moore and a resident of Cape Charles, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at his residence. A native of Oyster, he was the son of the late Kemper Moore and the late Fannie Brady Moore. He was a retired pastor of Assembly of God Church.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jean Moore, of Cheriton, and Ruth Moore-Callejas, of Machipongo; four grandchildren, Michael Moore, Ellen Stevens (Lee), Christian Pruett (Gwen), and Michelle Mooney; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Shirley Moore and Dorothy Burland; and six brothers, Sidney, Percy, Herbert, Ralph, Preston, and Kemper “Bill” Moore Jr.
A graveside service was held Saturday, March 9, 2019, at 2 p.m., at Cape Charles Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Conrow officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters, P.O. Box 2156, Norfolk, VA 23501.
